ON THE WAY OF MUTUALLY ADVANTAGEOUS COOPERATION |
| October 2006 |
| Mukesh Rohatgi, Chairman & Managing Director, Engineers India Limited
On the auspicious occasion of the 15th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, I wish to convey our best wishes for the continued success and prosperity of the great Government and the people of Uzbekistan.
India and Uzbekistan have enjoyed historical ties for several centuries. Recently, Engineers India Limited (EIL), a premier Engineering and Consultancy organization under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, had the privilege of entering into a cooperation agreement with Uzbekneftegaz, the largest oil and gas company in CIS countries.
Entering into this agreement fills us with a sense of honour and pride and also gives us the confidence that EIL would be able to make a humble contribution towards the development of the Uzbek oil, gas and chemical industry. Apart from the important oil and gas industries, I also look forward to our contribution in the areas of non-ferrous metallurgy among others.
EIL have been responsible for design, engineering and execution of large number of major projects in the field of oil and gas (onshore and offshore), petroleum refining, gas processing and petrochemicals. We also have to our credit India’s largest Aluminium plant, iron ore project inclusive of bauxite mining, ore beneficiation and aluminium smelting. In addition EIL have also worked on a number of other projects in non-ferrous metallurgy and fertilizers. Building on our experience and successes in India, today we are executing prestigious assignments in Algeria, Iran, Kuwait, Qatar, Abu Dhabi directly and through other international consultants. Some of these have already been completed successfully while others are at varying stages of execution.
Our team of highly qualified engineers with varied and versatile experience is fully geared up to undertake the challenging assignments in the service of Uzbekistan and looks forward to the opportunity of contributing to the prosperity of the Uzbek people.
