In order to further simplify entry into the country and stimulate investment in housing construction of the country, a number of changes are introduced to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of January 5, 2019, DP-5611 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of March 19, 2019, DP-5693. In particular, inclusion of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of South Africa and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China expands the following:
– a list of countries whose citizens have the opportunity to obtain an electronic entry visa;
– a list of countries whose citizens are granted the right to obtain a residence permit in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
As reported by the Press Service of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the right to obtain a residence permit in the Republic of Uzbekistan is issued subject to the acquisition in the territory of Uzbekistan of real estate for a certain amount:
in the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region from 400 thousand US dollars;
in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Andijan, Namangan and Fergana regions from 200 thousand US dollars;
in other regions from 100 thousand US dollars.
