A new line of electricity transmission is put in operation

One of the weakest points of the energy system of Uzbekistan until recently has been fractured order of its parts when the power supply to the southern parts of the country was provided through the substation “Regar” located in Tajkistran.

During the past two years State stock company “Uzbekenergo” carried out consistent work for ensuring round-connection of the Uzbek energy system and by that guarantee the reliable and uninterrupted work.

In the end of November 2009 it is planned to finish the contraction and start of operation of 500 kilowatt power transmission line “Guzar” – “Surkon”, which will allow direct supply of electricity to Surkhandarya region.

On 25 November the power transmission line will be tested and starting from 1 of December it will put into industrial operation.
As a result released volume of electricity of the Tajikistan’s power system, supplied earlier to Uzbekistan, could be consumed for the internal need of Tajikistan.

With regard to meeting the requirements of Sogd region of Tajikistan, it could be further provided according to early established scheme.
