Seminar addresses the tasks of the prosecutor agencies in protection of

Constitutional rights of citizens

Office of the General Prosecutor, in cooperation with Representative of Oliy Majlis of Republic Uzbekistan on Human Rights (Parliamentary Ombudsman) Dr. Sayyora Rashidova, specialists of the Tashkent State Law Institute and representatives from other organizations, arranged a seminar on topic "Tasks of the Prosecutor agencies in protection of Constitutional rights of citizens".


The young specialist, recently appointed to the various supervising and responsible posts Prosecutor agencies, also took part in the seminar.


Participants of the seminar heard the report of Parliamentary Ombudsman, who noted the necessity and importance of close interaction between Prosecutor agencies and other law enforcement entities of Republic for promotion the civil rights and liberties.


Report emphasized the further deepening of relations of the Prosecutor agencies with the office of Representative of Oliy Mazhlis of Republic Uzbekistan on Human Rights. It had been also noted, that it is necessary to take the additional measures directed on expansion of publicity, legal education of citizens, and also legal culture of the officials concerning practical realization of the civil rights, liberties and duties.


Seminar discussed such reports, as "Methods of protection of Constitutional civil rights at carrying out of investigations", "Role of Prosecutor agencies on protection of social Constitutional rights of citizens", "Appeal" is a Constitutional right of the citizen", "Public Prosecutor's monitoring on protection of the civil rights in inquiry and investigation agencies", "Problems in protection of the civil liberties and rights and support of the state charge, consideration of criminal cases in appeal and cassation stages", as well as "Ensuring the participation of the Public Prosecutor in consideration of criminal cases in courts".


On results of the seminar, there were endorsed corresponding recommendations for directions and methods of effective interaction of Prosecutor agencies with other law enforcement entities and structures of Ombudsman concerning protection of civil rights and liberties.
