The public of Uzbekistan resolutely condemns the fact of making the documentary film “Fitna” by the Dutch politician Geert Wilders which insults the religious feelings of Muslims.

The next attacks in their turn on Islam are nothing else but strive to provoke the inter-religious standoff in the contemporary world.

Such hasty and irresponsible attacks undermine the fundamental principles of peaceful co-existence, run counter to the universally adopted norms of international law, morals and ethics, and cannot be justified by any motives and persuasions.

The public of Uzbekistan is confident that only preservation of religious tolerance and strict observance of rights of representatives of all faiths may provide for the realization of an idea about inter-national accord and harmony.

Uzbekistan is convinced that the sufficient political will and reason will be manifested in the European states so that not to allow for the attempts to inflame the religious intolerance and enmity.
