Cotton Fair in Tashkent successfully completed
V International Uzbek Cotton
Fair with participation of about three hundred firms and companies from 34
countries took place on 14-15 October 2009 in Tashkent.
The international fair has clearly demonstrated that fact that the Uzbek
cotton is hitting high targets in the world market thanks to the high
quality indicators. With its long and strong fiber the Uzbek cotton fully
meets with the international requirements.
Today the cotton fiber of Uzbekistan is exported to China, Russia, Iran,
India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Republic of Korea, Turkey, Vietnam and many
other states. Consumer demand for the Uzbek cotton is constantly growing in
South East Asia where the textile industry develops intensively.
Within the framework of the international economic cooperation Uzbekistan is
putting forward new initiatives on development of practical and mutually
beneficial relations with foreign partners. In expanding its presence in the
world cotton market the country is taking into account the changing nature
of cotton market, developing new transport routes, improving methods of
processing, storage and fiber certification. The system certification of
cotton bales on the basis of high technologies is providing for delivering
to consumers a high quality cotton.
According to unanimous opinion of foreign experts V International Uzbek
cotton fair served as an acknowledgement of the fact that Uzbekistan
occupies one of the leading places in the world cotton market. Attendance of
the representatives of many countries of the world in the cotton fair serves
as an example to this point.
Foreign experts and specialists participated in the fair highly appreciated
the favorable conditions created in Uzbekistan for development of farmers,
in particular: allocating micro-crediting, providing necessary techniques
and materials, legal standards which fully meets with the international
requirements of production sale for domestic and foreign consumers.
It is necessary to notice that one of the important results of the fair was
signing contracts on purchasing over one million tons of the Uzbek cotton
fiber.
Another important aspect of the fair was that the considerable number of
participating foreign partners consisted of manufacturers of production from
the Uzbek fiber. Participation in the fair gave them opportunity to
establish direct contacts with partners and sign mutually beneficial
contracts on cotton delivery. During the fair leading consumers,
specialists, experts have been familiarized with the latest achievements of
Uzbekistan in cotton growing, processes of crop cultivation, its processing
and export. They exchanged opinions on changes in world cotton growing, new
directions and tendencies.
V International Uzbek Cotton Fair has once again confirmed Uzbekistan’s
status as one of the leaders of cotton business in the world is
strengthening year after year, and also expanding role of Uzbekistan in the
international economic relations.
