The Uzbek Lawmakers Adopt New Laws

The regular session of Oliy Majlis (Parliament) Legislative Chamber was held on June 21, 2007. The deputies approved agenda, proposed by the Council of the Lower Chamber.

The Draft Law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Law of Republic Uzbekistan “On efficient use of energy”, submitted by Mr. A. Abdunazarov, the member of the Committee on industry, construction and commerce was adopted in the third reading.

Mr. S. Jabbarov, the Vice-chairman of the Committee on legislature and judicial-legal issues, presented a draft law “On administrative procedures”, which was also adopted.

While discussing the bill “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On citizens’ healthcare” the Uzbek lawmakers made several remarks concerning a qualitative review of the certain provisions of the document. Taking into account expressed opinions the Legislative Chamber made a decision to reconsider the very bill in the second reading after its revision.

The draft law “On introducing amendments to Article 19 of the Law of Republic Uzbekistan “On telecommunications” was also adopted at the session.
