On 31 October this year in the US city of New York the terrorist attack was committed. The suspected is 29-year-old Uzbek citizen Sayfulla Saipov.
The competent authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan confirmed that Saipov Sayfulla Habibullaevich was born on 8 February 1988 in Tashkent. In 2005 he graduated from vocational college. In 2005-2009 he studied at Tashkent Financial Institute. After graduation he worked as an accountant in the hotel “Sayohat”. Before leaving to US, Sayfulla Saipov had no any trial cases.
In 2010 Sayfulla Saipov won the green card and the same year he left to the US. In the last few years he has been in common-law marriage with a native of Uzbekistan, also temporarily residing in the US. Since that time, S.Saipov has never returned to Uzbekistan and has not seen his parents, who still are living in Tashkent.
While in the US, Sayfulla Saipov never visited the Consulate or the Diplomatic Mission of Uzbekistan, as it should be in accordance with existing legal norms in order to be registered as Uzbek citizen.
The neighbors in the mahalla characterize S. Saipov as very positive. He grew up in a well-off family. His parents preached traditional Islam and have never been seen connected with any extremist movements.
After moving to the US Sayfulla Saipov became unsociable, came under the influence of radical groups. This was also reported by American media with reference to those people who knew him.
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr.Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his message to President of US Mr. Donald Trump expressed his deep condolences in connection with the terrorist attack in New York city, which claimed the lives of innocent people. The leader of our country confirmed the readiness of the Uzbek side to use all forces and means to assist in the investigation of the attack.
