Shavkat Mirziyoyev announces plans for the development of Kashkadarya region

The candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with voters of Kashkadarya region on October 11.

The meeting was opened by the candidate’s authorized person in the region T. Poyonov.

Presidential candidate of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a report on his pre-election program, which consists of ten priority areas for the development of economic and social spheres.

“Thinking about Kashkadarya, preparing for this meeting, I was most concerned about the issue of providing the population of this region with a decent life, prosperity and sources of stable income”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The main goal of the candidate’s five-year program is the creation of 400 thousand jobs in the region. It was noted that for this it is necessary to develop entrepreneurship and effectively use the infrastructure of large enterprises.

It is planned to establish 75 new small industrial zones near large enterprises in the region and create 25 thousand permanent jobs. The organization of an industrial technopark on 120 hectares near Karshi Airport will create another 10 thousand jobs.

Many people’s incomes depend on agriculture in Kashkadarya. Therefore, the program focuses on the development of this sector, increasing production. Measures are planned to improve seeds and varieties, renew the fleet of agricultural machinery and sustainably provide the land with water. In particular, it is planned to reconstruct the Karshi cascade of pumping stations and improve the water supply of 400 thousand hectares of areas.

The candidate also announced his plans for investments and exports. It was emphasized that over the next five years, more than 2 thousand projects worth about $10 billion will be implemented in the industries and 150 thousand new jobs will be created.

In particular, it is planned to organize a new chemical cluster and implement 12 projects worth $2.7 billion. Textile enterprises will be established in Nishan, Kasbi, Mirishkor and Yakkabag districts. It is planned to implement 430 projects worth $740 million in the construction materials sector, 185 projects worth $320 million in the food industry.

60 trillion UZS will be allocated from the state budget for the economic and social development of Kashkadarya region in the next five years.

The candidate’s program also defines large-scale measures to create decent living conditions and strengthen the health of the population. In particular, in the next five years, it is planned to increase the level of provision of clean drinking water from 47 to 80 percent.

It was emphasized that this year, based on the experience of Baghdad district, New Uzbekistan neighborhoods, including housing, industrial enterprises and social infrastructure will be built. 60 kilometers of Tashkent-Termez highway and internal roads will be repaired.

Issues of medicine, education, culture and sports were also considered.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev talked with the meeting participants, voters in the district studios. They expressed their opinions about the development opportunities of the region, the local problems. The candidate promised to include in his program and implement the proposals made.
