On July 3, the President of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Umid Ahmadjonov met with the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Press Service of NOC reports.
According to the Committee, Umid Ahmadjonov raised the issue of election of the representative of Uzbekistan to the membership of the International Olympic Committee. At the 129th session of the IOC in 2016, eight new members were elected in Rio de Janeiro, today their number is 98.
Thomas Bach also promised to nominate Umid Ahmadjonov to the IOC Executive Committee at the general meeting in 2019.
Within the framework of the visit to Lausanne, Umid Ahmadjonov met with Director of Olympic Solidarity program Pere Miro and heads of several departments of the IOC to discuss issues of implementation of new projects.
