Uzbekistan to open branches of Moscow Oncology Research Institute

A group of oncologists from the Russian Federation got acquainted with activities of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology, as well as its branch in the city of Tashkent.
Colleagues from Uzbekistan and Russia discussed joint projects for training highly qualified personnel through residency, postgraduate courses, doctoral programs, especially radiologists, the need for which is growing, as well as medical physicists for working in the radiotherapy departments, organizing internships for oncologists of Uzbekistan in Russian clinics. The main thing is that the Russian side agreed to organize such training for Uzbekistan colleagues free of charge.
At the meeting, the parties agreed to open branches of Moscow Oncology Research Institute named after P.A. Hertsen in the cities of Tashkent and Samarkand. Issues of science, organization of joint weekly telemedicine conferences, introduction of technology of complex surgical interventions in cancer patients, master classes with leading oncologists-surgeons, as well as joint conferences, congresses and symposiums were also considered.
