As of January 1, 2019, the resident population of the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 33,254.1 thousand people and in 2018 increased by 597.4 thousand, or 1.8%.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the urban population amounted to 16,805.0 thousand people (50.5% of the total population), the rural population – 16449.1 thousand people (49.5%).
