On July 26, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India Santosh Jha.
Accepting copies of credentials, the Minister welcomed the Ambassador of friendly India and congratulated him on his appointment to a high and responsible post and wished him fruitful work.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the current agenda of Uzbekistan – Indian relations was considered at the meeting.
The sides noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of mutually beneficial relations between Uzbekistan and India. It was emphasized that the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India in 2018 and participation in Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in January this year became landmark events of bilateral cooperation.
Views were also exchanged on the schedule of upcoming meetings of Uzbekistan – India interaction institutions, and other joint events.
