Tashkent Street and Babur Park to be established in Islamabad

The next event on the program of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan was a ceremony to name one of the streets in Islamabad “Tashkent”, as well as to name a park in the capital after Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that this decision reflects the close historical and cultural ties between the two countries, and also reaffirms the strategic level of the Uzbek-Pakistani multifaceted partnership.

It was particularly noted that Tashkent Street and the park named after our great ancestor Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur will become a tangible symbol of the parties’ shared commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between the nations.
