Uzbekistan strengthens its position as a safe and open tourism destination

Based on the results of 2025, Uzbekistan demonstrates steady and dynamic growth in the tourism industry. The country was visited by nearly 12 million foreign tourists, which is 16% more compared to the previous year.

The export of tourism services exceeded 4.8 billion US dollars, which confirms the growing international interest in Uzbekistan and the strengthening of its position as one of the most promising tourist destinations in the region.

These results became possible thanks to consistent reforms in the field of tourism, aimed at improving infrastructure, developing transport accessibility, digitalizing services, and creating favorable conditions for travelers. Projects for the development of tourism clusters, improving the quality of service, and expanding international cooperation are being actively implemented in the country.

A simplified entry procedure for foreign citizens has been introduced in the republic; in particular, visa-free entry is currently established for citizens of 94 foreign states, an electronic entry visa for 52 countries, and a five-day transit visa-free entry for 45 countries.

Against the background of current geopolitical instability in a number of regions of the world, including mass actions and demonstrations in individual countries, the factor of safety and comfortable stay of tourists is acquiring more and more importance.

In this context, Uzbekistan maintains the status of a stable, safe, and hospitable state, open to all guests regardless of their nationality and religion. Traditions of respect, tolerance, and sincere hospitality are an integral part of the culture of the Uzbek people.

International ratings confirm the high level of safety in Uzbekistan. Over the recent years, Uzbekistan has stably occupied leading positions in global safety indices. In particular, according to the “International SOS Risk Map,” the country is classified in the category of destinations with a low level of risks (Low Risk), which puts it on par with a number of European states in terms of general safety.

According to the “Numbeo Safety Index,” Uzbekistan ranks 25th among 148 countries of the world, demonstrating a steadily low crime rate. In addition, in the “Solo Female Travel Safety Index” and “Safety Perceptions Index” rankings, Uzbekistan took 1st place in the world, receiving one of the highest safety indicators for solo female travel. Additionally, according to the “Gallup Global Law and Order Index,” the country was also among the world leaders in terms of public safety and trust in law and order.

In aggregate, these assessments form a stable international image of Uzbekistan as a safe, stable, and comfortable destination for tourists.

Today, Uzbekistan offers tourists not only the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Great Silk Road, but also modern infrastructure, comfortable conditions, and an atmosphere of openness.
