President of Uzbekistan attends opening ceremony of the Games of the Future in Astana

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the opening ceremony of the third Games of the Future international multi-sport tournament in Astana.

The event, held at the Barys Arena ice palace, was also attended by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and other distinguished foreign guests.

President of the Russia Vladimir Putin addressed the participants of the ceremony via video message.

The vibrant program showcased the tournament’s main disciplines in the phygital format, combining digital competitions with traditional sports disciplines and real physical activity to encourage youth participation in traditional sports.

The President of Uzbekistan greeted the participants of the international tournament.

A phygital sports summit was also held today, bringing together ministers responsible for sports and technology, heads of diplomatic missions, and other senior officials.

The inaugural Games of the Future were held in Kazan in 2024. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the opening ceremony. The second tournament took place in Abu Dhabi in 2025.

At this year’s tournament, representatives of Uzbekistan will compete in the disciplines of phygital football, laser tag, and dance.
