Uzbekistan national team won 12 medals at the World Paralympic Games in Seoul, including 5 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals.
On the last day of participation in the competition, treasury of the team of Uzbekistan was replenished with 6 medals. Shahzod Zhumaniyozov in complex swimming on 200 meters set a record of Asia with a score 02: 23.41 and won the gold medal. In the same discipline, Muhammad Abduraimov won the bronze medal, his result – 02: 39.94.
In judo in the weight category up to 100 kg, Shirin Sharipov in the finals defeated the winner of the London 2012 Paralympic Games and Asian Para-Olympic Games in Incheon 2014 Gwin Guen from South Korea with the assessment ippon for 1 minute and 5 seconds and won the gold.
In the weight category up to 90 kg Shukhrat Babayev in the semifinals defeated the world champion of 2014 American Devon Dartanyan with the ippon for 1 minute 42 seconds and won the bronze medal.
In the weight category up to 81 kg, the owner of silver medal of London Paralympics Games 2012 Sharif Khalilov in the finals lost to a Korean Jung Ming and received “silver”. In the weight category up to 63 kg among women Tursunpashsha Nurmetova won the bronze medal.
