The Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan held a press conference for the media representatives in connection with the beginning of the new academic year in the educational institutions of the country.
During the event it was noted that in the system of public education there are more than 157 thousand educational institutions. According to the investment program of the current year, construction and repair works were carried out in 381 schools. 221 schools were reconstructed and in 160 schools were overhauled.
It should be noted that 587 thousand pupils crossing the threshold of the 1st class in the 2014-2015 academic year, as Presidential gift will be solemnly presented at September 2 – on Lesson of independence – student backpacks and school supplies of 12 species. These are cell- and line- papered notebooks of 6 pieces, sketch pad, colored paper, a set of watercolors, a set of colored pencils, a tube of glue, eraser, pen, 2 simple pencil and pencil case.
Within the framework of Presidential Decree “On measures on further improvement of learning of foreign languages” for the new academic year reprinted complexes of textbooks for 1st grade on English («Kid’s english»), German («Deutschen macht spab») and French («Hirondelle») languages in the amount of 553 thousand copies.
