A new park of culture and leisure “Lokomotiv” has opened in Tashkent’s Mirzo Ulugbek district.
Our capital city can barely be imagined without picturesque alleys and parks. They constitute not only a genuine decoration for a major megalopolis, but also a center for an eventful leisure and cultural relaxation for the city dwellers, especially children and youngsters.
The new Lokomotiv Park has exactly become such a premise where adults may spend their free time with use, while kids may get enormous pleasure and joy. The recreational area was created by the Uzbekistan Railways state stock company in accordance with the 29 December 2010 resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the approval of Action Program to consolidate the economic and technical capacities of culture and leisure parks and further improve their activities in 2011-2015.
The construction of a modern park of culture and leisure was accompanied by extensive creative works. A new asphalt road bed was laid, so was a green lawn, flowers and trees were planted. The central part of the park is divided by a picturesque alley, along which shopping points are located, stylized under world-renowned architectural masterpieces. Walking through it, one can encounter the Tower of Pisa, the Samanids Mausoleum, the Triumphal Arch, the Taj-Mahal, the Eiffel Tower.
According to the park director Roman Saifullin, in the wake of construction works in the new leisure center a goal was set to create a cultural-entertainment facility unique to the country in terms of high level technological solutions and amusement diversity.
Thus, the entire park was divided into separate thematic zones, each of which is intended for a concrete group of visitors. In general, 32 state-of-the-art amusements are installed in the park. The Ferris wheel is also unique to the nation, with a height of 42 meters.
The major asset of the new park is a square where video music fountains – themselves first in our country – are presented in full magnificence. They grant the visitors not only freshness and cool, but also allow them to enjoy colorful shows owing to a 3D projector, a screen of which is made of the fountain water’s mirror-like surface. There is also a garden of rocks as well as a pond with golden fish. Fanciers of extreme recreation are to have the benefit of the Professional Rockdrome, the Rope Town or the Air Bicycle.
“We are glad that a modern has opened by our house where you can relax with the whole family,” Gulmira Shorustamova says. “From now on, we are going to come here frequently.”
