A new stage in beekeeping development

According to experts, one bee family collects 25-30 kilograms of pollen and produces 100-120 kilograms of honey during the season.

Bee honey, venom, pollen, wax, milk are useful products for human health. They are used in medicine as natural resources that strengthens an organism. Honey is widely used in catarrhal and liver diseases.

As the analysis shows, due to the fact that the available opportunities on honey production are not fully used in our country, the productivity of bee colonies does not exceed 20 kilograms. This is well below the world average. Hence, not enough attention is paid to the study of best practices in beekeeping, the wide introduction of modern technologies in this industry.

The resolution of the Head of our state “On measures of further development of the beekeeping industry in the republic” of October 16, 2017 is an important guide to action in solving problems, as well as identifying priority tasks in the sphere.

The “Uzbekiston Asalarilari” (Bees of Uzbekistan) Association is being established in order to unite the beekeepers operating in our country, to assist them in the exchange of experience. Farms that are members of the association, until 2023, are exempted from customs payments for imported inventory items and equipment used in beekeeping, special vehicles and trailers for the transport of beehives, veterinary medicinal products and preparations used for preventing bee diseases and pest control, honeycombs and wax products.

The resolution stipulated that financing of expenses related to the content and organization of the association’s activities, as well as the entry into the International Federation of Beekeepers’ Associations “Apimondia” and the payment of membership fees for the first three years, is provided at the expense of JSC “Aloqabank” funds.

It should be noted that bee breeds common in our country are chosen taking into account their resistance to diseases, adaptability to climatic conditions, and production of qualitative honey. Measures are being taken on further improvement of their breed in the future. At the same time, a Faculty of Zootechnics will be established in Fergana State University, starting from 2018/2019 academic year, in order to train specialists with higher education.
