Uzbekistan promises to turn into one of the centers of world tourism in the coming years. Such prospects were made by participants of the talks and meetings at ITB Berlin-2017, the largest European specialized tourism exhibition in Germany.
Having vividly and colorfully demonstrated the national color and ineffable beauty of local sites to the European public, representatives of the Uzbek delegation commented for Uzbekistan Today on major trends the country’s tourism product development, and substantiated the prospects of inflow of EU tourists in Uzbekistan in the near future.
According to experts, Uzbekistan has not just been actively developing its infrastructure by building hotels, roads, inviting leading international restaurant brands to the country, but also strongly promoting the national tourist product abroad, engaging a variety of tools that range from holding all sorts of mass festivals and presentations to specific negotiations with travel companies and government agencies.
During the recent exhibition, the Uzbek delegation held several key negotiations, including meetings with the representatives of the European Centre for Ecological and Agricultural Tourism, the Euronews TV Channel, the German Travel Association. All the meetings promise to convert into the increasing number of EU tourists, who show considerable interest in the culture, art and national cuisine of Uzbekistan.
That was impressively proved by the events that took place at the exhibition pavilions and at the country’s embassy in Germany. They were visited by thousands of experts, representatives of tourism companies and specialized state structures, as well as ordinary tourists. They were invited for an unforgettable concert program and a folk group performance. It all was supplemented by a unique gastronomic tour around the regions of our country for guests to taste delicious Uzbek pilav, somsa, and the wines that, according to visitors, are not much inferior to the French ones.
