We, the Heads of member-countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, express our strong support for the brotherly people of Uzbekistan during this difficult period in the history of independent Uzbekistan, associated with the passing away of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

The name of this outstanding statesman associated with large-scale transformations that have contributed to the development of the economic potential of the country, the growth of its international prestige, improve the welfare of the Uzbek society. He devoted his whole life to selfless service to his people.

Islam Karimov was behind the creation of the Commonwealth, he have done much to strengthen the economic relations of friendship and good-neighborliness of the peoples of the CIS countries. As head of Uzbekistan he made a significant contribution to the preservation of peace and stability in Central Asia, the transformation of the region into area of security and sustainable development.

Expressing confidence in further progressive advancement of Uzbekistan and the continuity of policy on comprehensive strengthening of friendship and good-neighborliness of all Commonwealth nations, we fully support the aspirations of the people of Uzbekistan to the preservation of peace, stability and national reconciliation.

We are convinced that the historical legacy of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan will continue to contribute to the development and strengthening of fraternal relations in a close-knit family of Commonwealth nations.
