Uzbek Agency of automobile and river transport hosted a meeting of the board following the first half-year results of its activity.
The Agency together with local administrations carries out the work on the study of passenger traffic and the needs of the population for passenger transport in the region, as well as provides practical assistance to auto enterprises on updating the vehicle fleet.
In the first half of 2016, 39 entrepreneurship entities on a leasing basis and at the expense of bank loans purchased 240 units of “Isuzu” buses produced at Samarkand automobile plant, including: 50 units – in Tashkent region, 10 – in Samarkand, 3 – in Navoi, 27 – in Bukhara, 14 – in Khorezm, 2 – in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, by 1 unit in Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions, 45 – in Fergana and 13 units in Surkhandarya.
In addition, in January-June 2016 carriers purchased 229 units of trucks, 48 vans and 181 units of passenger cars (of which 62 are “Damas” brand units).
The amount of investments made in the sector over the reporting period exceeded 72.4 billion soums. In January-June of 2016, the Agency and its regional offices issued 1734 licenses and 107552 license cards. The number of licensed vehicles in the country totaled 93,330.
