Production of carpets and rugs has been launched at Kamalak Textile joint venture, in Urgut Free Economic Zone.
The enterprise, created jointly with Turkish entrepreneurs with a total project cost of 32.7 million USD, produces 6 thousand tons of synthetic yarn, 1 million 800 thousand square meters of carpets and 2 million 400 thousand square meters of tufting and artificial turf.
At the initial stage, 26.2 million dollars was invested in this enterprise and the production of carpets and rugs was established, 150 jobs were created. With the launch of the enterprise at full capacity, 80 more people got a permanent job.
It should be noted that today there are dozens of enterprises established together with Turkish companies in Urgut district. In particular, carpets and carpet products produced by Urgaz Carpet enterprise under URGAZ brand are in great demand not only in the domestic, but also in foreign markets.
