Three time Olympic Champion (2004, 2008 and 2012), silver Olympic medalist (2000), two time World Champion (2003, 2006), silver and bronze medalist of the World Championship Artur Taymazov was inducted to the Hall of Fame of the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA).
FILA, the international governing body for the sport of wrestling, has named its 2014 Hall of Fame Class. FILA President Nenad Lalovic held an official inauguration ceremony of new members of Hall of Fame in Tashkent.
Artur Taymazov expressed his gratitude to management of the Association of Sport Wrestling of Uzbekistan and the country for support, which they provided to athlete in these all years. He said he would not achieve anything without this support.
Another representative of Uzbekistan Aslan Chadarzev, three time World Champion, was also included to the Hall of Fame in Freestyle Wrestling. Chadarzev died in 1990 when he was at the age of 29.
Tashkent hosted FILA Congress. During Congress, Nenad Lalovic was re-elected at the president of the organization and FILA was re-branded to United World Wrestling (UWW).
