Tashkent hosted a seminar entitled “Attraction of foreign managers to joint stock companies” on 28 April 2016.
The seminar was organized by the State Committee of Uzbekistan on privatization, demonopolization and development of competition in cooperation with the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Uzbekistan and Scientific-educational center for corporate management.
Uzbek President outlined as priority to attract foreign managers to top positions in joint stock companies in order to improve corporate management in Uzbekistan.
From 1 July 2015, Uzbekistan set an order, in line with which top management of the joint stock companies are selected on competitive bases. Foreign managers can also participate in these competitions.
At the seminar, representatives of the ministries and departments, joint stock companies, companies with foreign investments and others attended the event.
The seminar was aimed at assisting joint stock companies to attract foreign managers to familiarize with foreign experience in modernization of production and improving corporate management, etc.
At the event, the participants considered organization of competitive selection of top managers for joint stock companies, search of foreign managers, regulation of labour relations, related with hiring of foreign managers, etc.
