In the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On public procurement”, adopted on April 9, 2018, the basic principles of public procurement are separately defined. This is openness, transparency, competitiveness, objectivity, proportionality, integrity of public procurement system, non-admission of corruption.
The basic principles of public procurement should be applied at all stages of the public procurement process.
This was emphasized at a seminar held at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which was dedicated to the essence and significance of the Law “On public procurement”.
The First Deputy Minister of Justice N.Jurayev noted important aspects of the new law.
The law defines general requirements for the process of public procurement, availability of electronic stores, procedure for holding auctions, competitions, tenders, granting preferences to business entities, monitoring compliance with procurement procedures, appeals mechanisms, dispute resolution and conflicts in public procurement issues.
At the event, with participation of chief accountants and employees of financial, economic, legal services of state and economic management bodies, it was noted that ensuring effective implementation of the law would serve the progressive development of the country’s economy.
