Samarkand has hosted a regional industrial fair and cooperation exchange with major manufacturing enterprises and entities of small business and private entrepreneurship in the province.
Organized in line with the 24 February 2014 resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on measures to arrange for and hold the international industrial fair and cooperation exchange, the fair was attended by more than 200 major and smaller manufacturers and private entrepreneurs of the region, who presented in excess of 1,200 types of goods.
A particular significance is attached in the country under the leadership of nation’s President to the production of final goods and components based on local raw materials, to the promotion of cooperation among large industrial enterprises and small business entities. As a result, a program of localization is being implemented effectively, while the volumes of manufacturing have been growing. The traditional regional industrial fair and cooperation exchange also serves as an important factor in boosting the interaction among manufacturers.
Last year, 197 industrial enterprises took part in industrial fair and cooperation exchange, and 586 deals for 7 billion 599.4 million soums were reached then. These indicators are anticipated to grow this year.
“Our enterprise was launched in 2012 and it produces knitwear by and large,” shares Sayyora Salimova, head of the Eko Planeta Ltd. in the Taylak district. “We receive orders for the sewage of more than a hundred types of specialized work-wear, linens and other goods. In the last year’s fair we concluded agreements for 180 million soums. This year we plant to increase this indicator. We have already reached deals with such organizations as the Alisher Navoi Samarkand State University and the regional children’s surgery clinic.”
During the fair each enterprise has had opportunity to hold negotiations with partners and conclude agreements for the supply of products.
The hokim of Samarkand region Z.Mirzaev delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the fair.
