The Gallery of Fine Arts of Uzbekistan is hosting an exhibition dedicated to the arts and crafts of Bukhara.
The exhibition is called ‘Bukhara Colors’ and is a gift to Navruz. It displays chopons (oriental robes) and national fabrics, sewn and woven in the late 19th – early 20th centuries. All exhibits are the property of Bukhara collector Akbar Khakimov.
As the organizers noted, the presented collection is voluminous and diverse, it includes all kinds of national arts and crafts, but it is the national textile, which is known throughout the world as ‘Ikat’, inspired for organize this festive exhibition. It literally energizes Uzbekistan people and guests of the capital with ravishing colors of Bukhara textiles.
The exhibition will last until the end of March.
