Buses, tractors and hinged equipment were donated to Afghanistan on behalf of the President of Uzbekistan

On January 10, a solemn event dedicated to donating 25 buses, 3 tractors and hinged equipment to people of Afghanistan on behalf of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in the city of Hairatan (IRA). It was attended by members of the official delegation of Uzbekistan, representatives of administration of the President and government of Afghanistan, public and business circles of this country.

Leadership of Uzbekistan, based on traditional historical relations of friendship between our people, pays priority attention to development and strengthening of good-neighborly relations, expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in all spheres.

It was noted that as an example of friendly attitude of Uzbekistan to Afghanistan, determination of the leadership of our country to continue assisting the Afghan people, a special Educational Training Center for IRA citizens was established in Surkhandarya region on instructions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, where about 100 students will arrive on January 20.

Officials and public representatives of Afghanistan expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for donated buses, tractors and special equipment. Contribution of Uzbekistan to the economic rehabilitation of Afghanistan will contribute to improving the life of Afghan people and their returning to normal course of peaceful development. The buses donated by Uzbekistan will facilitate carrying Afghan children to schools. Three buses were transferred to the administration of the city of Hairatan in presence of the delegation of Uzbekistan.

Special gratitude of people of Afghanistan was expressed for readiness of Uzbekistan to increase the amount of supplied electricity, implement the project of construction of a new power transmission line “Surkhan – Puli-Khumri”, designed to provide electricity in Kabul and the northern provinces of the country.

Participants of the solemn event with particular satisfaction received the information on a significant reduction in the price for electricity supplied by Uzbekistan to the Afghan people.
