The Institute of Economics and Services opened a doctoral support center in Samarkand, which was established within the framework of the TEMPUS program for raising the quality of research personnel training.

The format of the center and provisions on its operation were elaborated by specialists of the Ministry of the Higher and Special Secondary Education of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent Finance Institute, the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan, as well as the Karakalpak and Qarshi State Universities. Also taking part in this development were representatives of the faculty of the Sapience University (Rome, Italy), Granada University (Spain) and Zagreb University (Croatia).

“Tremendous work has been carried out on the study of legal and normative bases for training doctoral students in Uzbekistan, acquainting our country’s university faculty with the higher educational institutions’ curricular in foreign countries and elaboration of recommendations on the improvement of doctoral education in Uzbekistan,” says deputy rector of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Services on scientific activities Dilbar Aslonova. “As a result, we have elaborated guidelines for raising the quality of doctoral education in Uzbekistan and opened centers for supporting doctoral students under the universities taking part in our project.”

The center will promote and assist doctoral students in writing articles, monographs and publication of competitors’ works in national and foreign journals, as well as in collecting data and their statistical processing, and in conducting opinion polls.
