Dozens of artworks by Rustam Hudoyberganov are on display at the Central Showroom of the Uzbekistan Academy of Arts at a solo show, ‘Colors of the World’, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence.

The monumentalist, who is celebrating his 70th birthday these days, presents over fifty works of varied genres at the show.  Among the canvases are portraits of national historical heroes such as Amir Temur and Jaloliddin Manguberdi and contemporaries. Also on view are architectural landscapes fr om Khorezm, wh ere he was born, and other Uzbek cities.

Landscapes hold a special place in his creativity. The artist travels extensively across the country, paints en plein air and brings a large number of beautiful etudes from each trip. The fall is Hudoyberganov’s favorite season, which is why his landscapes are rich in golden-red color. His artworks are created in a strict, laconic and generalized manner with decorative solutions of the color palette.

Hudoyberganov has been teaching at the Kamoliddin Bekhzod National Institute of Arts and Design since 1993. He has trained more than one generation of talented artists. His works can be found in private collections in France, Germany, Italy and the US, and can be seen on the walls of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan and several buildings in Tashkent, Termez and Urgench.
