Commission members study the situation in Karakalpakstan

Members of the Commission for the study of the facts and events that occurred in the Republic of Karakalpakstan in July 2022 continue their work.
This has been reported by the Press Service of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman).

Members of the Commission, to fulfill the tasks facing them, conduct a study, divided into groups. The work carried out is documented, including through audio, photo and video means to ensure the transparency of the activities of each group.

First, the members of the Commission talked with patients being treated at the Central Hospital and the Karakalpak branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care, studied the facts related to ensuring the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of a person in the light of the events.

Talks were held with military personnel and employees of the internal affairs bodies who are being treated at the military hospital of the North-Western Military District and the military hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. During the talks, the actions of the demonstrators and military personnel were analyzed.

Members of the Commission also visited the Center for Forensic Medical Examination of Karakalpakstan and got acquainted with all the necessary materials related to the events.
