A seminar has taken place in Namangan on putting into practice the new edition of the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On employment protection”, which was adopted on 22 September 2016.
The seminar was arranged by the regional trade unions association and attended by representatives of the regional labour directorate, the territorial directorate of the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Uzbekistan, employment protection officials of enterprises, organizations and establishments as well as journalists.
It has especially been emphasized that ensuring the supremacy of law in society, increasing citizens’ law culture and knowledge and bringing up young people in the spirit of respect for the law are priority areas of state policy.
Specialists explained the essence and significance of the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On employment protection”, which comes into effect by the end of this year, and there was an exchange of views on ways of putting it into practice.
Speeches were heard on public monitoring of employment protection effort, the significance of the new edition of the law in creating decent working conditions for employees and further improving law awareness.
“Law awareness is of important significance to ensuring its observance. In this context it is advisable to explain the significance of the new edition of the law to the wider public, particularly leaders of enterprises, organizations and establishments as well as specialists and to step up law awareness campaigns,” says the technical inspector of the regional labour directorate, Z.Umarov.
During the seminar, proposals were put forward on establishing a study centre on employment protection in the region and on upgrading the qualifications of officials of this sphere at enterprises and organizations.
