Samarkand hosted a business forum with participation of entrepreneurs from Samarkand region and Sughd region of Tajikistan.
More than 200 businesspeople from Tajikistan and representatives of large enterprises and companies of Samarkand took part in the event. Participants attended the exhibition of products and services of the two regions, exchanged views.
The leaders of the two regions signed a memorandum on development of trade and economic relations between Samarkand and Sughd regions.
At the forum, information was provided on created opportunities and facilities for establishing and developing cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries, tax and customs privileges. Large industrial enterprises, travel companies, farmers and entrepreneurs held presentations of their products and services.
Within the framework of the visit of Tajikistan’s entrepreneurs, a cooperation exchange was held, during which the sides exchanged experience, agreed on implementation of joint investment projects and signed mutually beneficial contracts.
At the forum, 170 contracts and memorandums worth 107 million 847 thousand dollars were signed between Samarkand and Sughd regions. In particular, the Samarkand producers concluded 87 contracts on the export of agricultural, food products, textiles, building materials, household items, other goods and services. And more than 10 travel agencies have agreed on organization of excursions of Tajikistan people to Uzbekistan.
