Bukhara is famous for its historical sites, works of craftsmanship, rites, customs and traditions reflecting its rich ancient cultural heritage.
In the years of independence, crafts such as goldsmithery, weaving, embroidery, pottery and wood-carving as well as national applied arts are consistently developing in the ancient town.
This is clearly evident in the work of members of the “Hunarmand” (craftsman) association. Beautiful and unique works of craftsmanship made by them attract the attention of many people, including that of foreign tourists.
