DELEGATION OF MICROSOFT IN UZBEKISTAN

Meeting with the delegation of Microsoft Corporation led by the CIS Regional Office Director Ronald Binkofsky was held at the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As it was noted, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan has already signed agreements and memorandums with a number of leading developers and suppliers of innovative technical solutions of the world. Close cooperation with such large companies as IBM, Cisco, Google and Microsoft is carried out. This contributes to further development of ICT in Uzbekistan, introduction of advanced technologies in the economy, provides new opportunities for the exchange of experience and ideas between Uzbekistan and foreign experts.

At the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for further cooperation in a number of areas. In particular, in the sphere of implementing cloud technologies in public administration, further development and introduction of the latest software for small business and private entrepreneurship. Issues of organization of the system of training students and the population in the use of Microsoft products and services were also discussed. Thus, the Microsoft Imagine Academy educational resource allows to study innovative developments in the sphere of software, the architecture of the most popular operating systems and office programs. In addition, opportunities of a special community of “innovative educators”, which unites thousands of teachers of the world were presented. During their studies, they try to effectively use opportunities of ICT in order to make the educational process even more informative and exciting for students. At the moment, there are teachers from Uzbekistan among the members of the special community of “innovative educators”.

A seminar was held within the framework of the delegation’s visit, at which Microsoft experts told about the company’s developments for developing the “e-government” system.
