Delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan attended the International Food and Beverage Exhibition

On March 10-12, Greece hosted Food Expo 2018 International Food and Beverage Exhibition.

Food Expo Greece is the largest regional international food and beverage exhibition in South-Eastern Europe. Since the first exhibition in 2014, Food Expo has become one of the fastest growing exhibitions on food and beverage in the world.

According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, more than 1,250 exhibitors from 22 countries took part at the event. It was visited by more than 70 thousand people, of them 3,5 thousand foreign specialists and buyers from 65 countries. More than 15 thousand B2B meetings were held.

With the direct assistance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the Small businesses’ and private entrepreneurship’s export promotion fund, as well as the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Greece, the Uzbek side took part in the current Food Expo 2018 exhibition with the national pavilion, for the first time. In particular, the Republic of Uzbekistan was represented by 30 small and medium business entities.

The foreign audience was presented achievements of the Republic of Uzbekistan in such industries as: wine and vodka (JSC “Uzvinosanoat-holding”, JSC “Uzbekiston Champagne”, JSC “Tashkentvino”), production of dried fruit and vegetables (LLC “Agro Invest TNA”) , production of confectionery products (LLC “Sladus Produce”), production of pasta, biologically active additives (JV “Oriental food and beverages”), production of food products (LLC “Andijon Exclusive Invest”), processing and production of dried fruits, nuts, honey, as well as beans (LLC “Baraka meva sanoat service”, “Mashkhura zamin gavkhari” farm, LLC “Urgut sarik sara kishmish”, “Gulasal-Yusufjon”, LLC “Zomin Asali”).

Products of Uzbekistan under the brand “Made in Uzbekistan” aroused a special interest of the foreign side.

Over 100 B2B meetings of the Uzbek side with representatives of business of Greece, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, the Czech Republic, Pakistan, Poland, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, China were organized at the exhibition.

Agreements were reached with the foreign side on concluding contracts for the export of Uzbek products (raisins, walnuts, dried apricots, almonds, honey, dried vegetables, licorice root, grains and legumes, confectionery, wine and vodka products), cooperation agreements and the attraction of mini-technologies for more than 28 million US dollars.

At the exhibition, Uzbekistan companies had an opportunity to get acquainted with the advanced foreign innovative technology in the food industry for their further implementation in the Republic of Uzbekistan in production of competitive products.

Modern know-how and mini-technologies in the sphere of production, processing and packaging food products, meeting modern world standards attracted special attention of the Uzbek side.

Great interest of foreign companies in investing in Uzbekistan, including in the field of introduction of mini-technologies in the food and wine industries should be noted.

Taking into account the fact that Food Expo Greece becomes the leading exhibition of food and beverages in the South-Eastern Europe region, Uzbekistan exhibitors expressed interest in participating in the next exhibition with even bigger stands.

On March 12, Uzbekistan – Greece business forum with participation of business circles of the two countries was held within the framework of Food Expo exhibition.
