From June 29 to July 3, the Chairman of the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) under the State Committee on tourism development paid a working visit in Germany. This visit was organized with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Federal Republic of Germany.
The purpose of the visit was to conduct negotiations with potential German partners to establish long-term cooperation to attract tourists from Germany to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting with the Executive Director of the Association for Economic Cooperation with the countries of Eastern and Central Europe, the sides discussed prospects of cooperation in organization of joint events dedicated to tourism potential of Uzbekistan.
Speaking about the enormous potential of Uzbekistan in development of tourism, a confidence was expressed in the correctness of the developed and currently implemented Action Strategy by 2021.
The leadership of the Association, which unites more than 200 small and medium companies of Germany, including travel, reported willingness to fruitful cooperation with the APTA of Uzbekistan on the implementation of specific projects aimed at promoting the establishment and development of contacts between Uzbek and German travel companies.
In this regard, the parties agreed to study the possibility of organizing seminars in Uzbekistan by the end of this year. The main themes of the seminars will be questions about promoting the Uzbek tourist product in Germany, the effective positioning of Uzbekistan as a tourist destination, as well as the specifics of the reception of German tourists.
Following the meeting, an Agreement was signed on cooperation between the Association of Private Tourist Organizations of Uzbekistan and the Association for Economic Cooperation with the countries of Eastern and Central Europe.
The parties agreed to organize the visit of the delegation of tourism companies of Germany to Uzbekistan, tentatively in October this year.
The parties also agreed that the German Association will support tourism companies of Uzbekistan at the German market, to promote the participation of APTA on tourist activities in Germany and conducting presentations and business meetings in the format of “B2B”.
