Delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in interregional meeting in Budapest

On February 27, 2018, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part at the first meeting of ministers of foreign affairs of the Visegrad Group and Central Asian countries, in Budapest.

At the ministerial forum “V4 + Central Asia”, initiated by the Hungarian presidency of the “Visegrad Group”, the delegations of Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed the state and prospects of bilateral and interregional cooperation in various fields.

As noted in the speech of the Uzbek delegation, the country stands for building mutually beneficial and fruitful ties with Visegrad Group countries, taking into account the economic, intellectual, scientific and technical capabilities.

Participants of the meeting became acquainted with the main provisions of the extensive political agenda forwarded by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on carrying out large-scale reforms and profound transformations in the country, strengthening ties with foreign partners, primarily with the Central Asian states, ensuring security in the region against the backdrop of a multi-year Afghan problem.

At the forum, delegations supported the new format of and interregional interaction.

The heads of delegations, who took part in the ministerial forum, were received by the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
