At the Uzexpocentre national exposition complex, specialized expositions on mining, metals, machinery, transport and logistics began on 16 November.

The main aim of these expositions arranged by the Ministry of External Economic Relations, Investment and Trade, the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Uzbekistan, the ITE Uzbekistan international expo company and a number of other organizations is to provide practical help in increasing goods production volumes and raising quality in the aforementioned branches and in creating new jobs.

110 companies from 25 countries, including Uzbekistan, Russia, the USA, China, South Korea, Great Britain, Germany, Israel, Latvia, the Czech Republic, France, Switzerland and Japan, are presenting their products at the expositions.

It was said at the opening of the expositions that the carrying out of important tasks specified by the country’s First President Islam Karimov, specifically more than doubling the country’s GDP by the year 2030 and bringing the share of the country’s industry in the economy to 40 per cent depends also on the expansion of attracting direct foreign investments to the country’s industry, transport and logistics spheres. Through implementing investment projects in the next five years, it is proposed to increase the industrial output by a factor of 1.5.

In the years of independence, Uzbekistan strengthened its position on the world market. Today Uzbekistan is in tenth place in the world for gold resources and in 11th place for gold extraction, This country is among the top ten countries with the largest amounts of uranium resources and is in 12th place for its extraction.

The “MiningWorld Uzbekistan” international exposition is not only a convenient platform for displaying practical and scientific achievements in industry but also a forum for the discussion by specialists of topical issues of the sphere. Among participants in the exposition being held for the 11th time this year are well-known companies.

Big companies from Germany, France, China, Russia and other countries displayed mining equipment, crushing and screening machines, drilling equipment and ore-enrichment equipment.

The ore-extraction expo is complemented by the “Machinery Central Asia” international exposition. A wide range of machines, equipment and components as well as sequential production lines are on display there.

Today Uzbekistan’s railways have a decent place in the system of international railway transportation as an important link of trans-regional transport corridors. The country’s main railway lines have great transport and transit potential for linking the East and the West as well as the North and the South.

All this increases the attractiveness of the “TransUzbekistan” international exposition. Considering the increasing volumes of trade between countries of Southeast Asia and Europe, the creation of logistical centres with broad functions in Uzbekistan is a good solution to issues of the storage, processing and transportation of export-import cargoes. Therefore, foreign entrepreneurs regard “TransUzbekistan” as an optimal place for the discussion of key issues relating to the delivery and storage of cargoes.

The exhibition stand of the Ozbekiston Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan railways) joint-stock company, which is the leader of transport-logistical services and passenger transportation in the Central Asian region, has a central place in the exposition. There services offered by enterprises of the Ozbekiston Temir Yollari joint-stock company are widely exhibited.

The international expositions “MiningWorld Uzbekistan”, “Machinery Central Asia” and “TransUzbekistan” serve for the further raising of foreign companies’ interest in Uzbekistan. And domestic enterprises are given opportunities to familiarize themselves with the latest achievements of world industry, to find new partners and to expand the geography of the export of their products.
