Tashkent hosted a roundtable on 14 May to discuss draft law “On commercial secret”. It was organized by the Faction of Liberal-Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Committee on information and communication technologies at the Legislative Chamber and State Committee of Uzbekistan on privatization, demonopolization and development of competition.
MPs of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, representatives of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, ministries and departments, state and public organizations, civil cities and others attended the event.
The roundtable considered the draft law, its legal and economic advantages to protect rights and interests of the businesses, development of the competition via protection of commercial secret information, etc.
In economic activities, protection of secret information of the entrepreneurs is important and the draft law was developed to regulate issues on protection of confidential information of the enterprises. It was developed based on the experience of the CIS, Japan, Germany and the United States.
The document determines and sets requirements to commercial secret. The participants discussed further improvement of the draft law and shared their recommendations and proposals.
