ECO: cooperation in trade, investment and small business

Within the framework of the 25th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Economic Cooperation Organization, regular meetings of specialized bodies of the structure were held at the International Trade Center, in Tashkent.
The event is dedicated to the 12th meeting of committees for trade development, small and medium business, as well as trade facilitation. It was attended by member states of the organization: representatives of chambers of commerce and industry of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, diplomatic missions responsible for transport, trade, industry and investments of ministries and agencies, businessmen.
At the meeting, such issues as activities of the committee, expansion of investment and protection of investors’ rights, conduction of a forum for representatives of the private sector on encouraging investment, the launch of a web portal on trade cooperation were discussed.
During the dialogue, issues of developing common political views in development of free trade flow were discussed. Activities of the Committee for development of trade, investment, small and medium business were analyzed.
At the event, a presentation was held on the experience of Uzbekistan in development of youth entrepreneurship. Information was provided on the work carried out in implementation of special programs “Obod qishloq” (Prosperous village), “Obod makhalla” (Prosperous neighborhood), “Youth is our future”, “Each family is an entrepreneur”.
The event continued with a meeting of the Trade Facilitation Committee.
It was noted that development of trade relations in the world is the main guarantor of socio-economic stability. To ensure stable development in the region, it is important to expand mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthen free trade system.
At the meeting, best practices on simplifying the process of trade in order to ensure the growth of the economy at a high rate were considered, issues of simplification of the domestic legislation of countries in the customs sphere and border control were discussed.
