Uzbek State University of World Languages timed to coincide with this date hosted a ceremony.
Representative of the British Council in Uzbekistan and Goethe Institute in Tashkent, the Embassy of France with the assistance of the European Union Delegation in Uzbekistan have become the organizers of the festival.
The event began with a ceremony of awarding certificates to participants of a seminar for teachers of English, German and French from all regions of the republic, which for three weeks to learn a new methodology of teaching foreign languages.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan Naythart Höfer-Wissing expressed confidence that knowledge and skills obtained during the workshop will help teachers to carry out the lessons of foreign languages better and more interesting through the use of interactive teaching methods and ICT.
Then, an presentation of various languages of the European continent, organized by embassies and cultural centers of European countries.
– European Languages Day is celebrated on September 26 each year in almost all parts of the world – Director of the British Council in Uzbekistan, Mark Crossey said in an interview with Jahon Information Agency. – I am glad that in your country, this date is widely celebrated. It is symbolic that this year’s celebration of this occasion has been held in the University of World Languages, which is one of the leading universities in the field of training of specialists on foreign languages not only in the country, but also in the region.
We are pleased with the attention paid in Uzbekistan to the issue of learning foreign languages. In our opinion, this is an investment in the future of the country.
