On May 5, the Department of Diplomatic Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the assistance of the Association of Cooks of Uzbekistan held the XVI Festival of Cultural Traditions and National Dishes among diplomatic missions accredited in the Republic of Uzbekistan at “Uzexpocentre”, in Tashkent. More than 40 diplomatic missions attended the event.
A wide range of various dishes and souvenirs were offered to the attention of numerous guests who came to this holiday of kindness and charity with their families, friends and colleagues. Experts and connoisseurs of national cuisines from different parts of the world could taste fragrant Asian dishes, sweets and even exotic dishes from foreign chefs. Guests of the festival also enjoyed a rich cultural program, performances of Uzbek music and dance groups.
In addition to the stands of the Embassies, this year, extensive information was provided on the tourism potential of Uzbekistan. Representatives of 12 regions of Uzbekistan acquainted guests with the history, ancient cities of the republic, priceless monuments of culture and architecture, as well as national dishes of the regions.
