In Tashkent, the 15th cultural traditions and national dishes festival took place at the Uzexpocenter with the participation of the representatives of diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in our country. It was organized by the Diplomatic Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic.
At the opening of the event it was noted that Uzbekistan places special attention on the development of mutually beneficial and friendly relations with all countries, strengthening not only political and economic, but also cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Acquaintance with the history, customs and traditions, art and culture of different peoples contributes to the cementing of friendly relations. This finds its embodiment in regularly conducted various cultural and educational events, conferences and festivals in our country with the participation of diplomatic missions of foreign countries.
This traditional event always takes place in a lively, relaxed atmosphere and is very popular bоth among participants and numerous guests. The employees of the embassies represent their national cuisine, and act themselves as chefs and cooks.
The representatives of the embassies of Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Hungary, Vietnam, Egypt, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, USA, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Republic of Korea and other countries, as well as international organizations took part in the festival.
“The festival is a demonstration of the unique customs of the peoples of the world”, said an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to our country Vladimir Tyurdenev. “This event is becoming more and more popular, large-scale and recognizable event from year to year. Its guests can taste real Siberian pelmeni (special soup), Belarusian draniki (special national dish), Kazakh beshbarmak (national dish), French pastries and, of course, a unique Uzbek pilaf (special dish from rice). This contributes to the development and strengthening of friendly relations between countries”.
“We are already participating in this event for the fourth time”, said the first adviser to the French ambassador to Uzbekistan Miriam Gallan. “It was conducted in a warm and relaxed atmosphere, through the national cuisine the guests got acquainted with the culture of many countries and peoples. It is very essential that this project is of a charitable nature: the money received from the sale of foods will go to the children from the Mehribonlik homes (orphans’ house). It is a great honor for our embassy to contribute to this noble work”.
At the festival, various traditions were presented, national costumes, handicraft products of different peoples were shown. The songs and folk dances performed in various languages gave everyone a great mood.
