An awarding ceremony of the most active participants of the International Tourism Fair FITUR-2015 was held a few days ago in Madrid (Spain). National stand of Uzbekistan for high-level representation of the country, which is located on the “Silk Road” was awarded the title “Best Stand”.
During the awarding ceremony of “Uzbektourism”, qualitative design of the Uzbek exposition which demonstrates rich cultural and historical heritage and tourist potential of the country, including vivid illustrative material on the world-famous cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Tashkent, Shahrisabz was noted. It was stressed that Uzbekistan is one of the leading places in the world in terms of historical sites, 140 of which are part of the objects under the protection of UNESCO.
The award ceremony was held in the presence of State Secretary for Tourism of Spain, I. Borrego, representatives of the City Hall of Madrid, Spanish tourism companies, as well as the diplomatic corps accredited in the country.
