A meeting of the organizational working group was held to select foreign candidates to participate in the contest as part of the Second International Forum of Maqom Art, which will be held on June 27-30 this year in Zaamin district of Jizzakh region, Uzbekistan.
At a meeting held at the Uzbek National Institute of Musical Art named after Yunus Rajabi, members of the working group reviewed and discussed the candidacies of about 30 representatives from 20 foreign countries who expressed a desire to participate in the prestigious contest.
According to the working group members’ final conclusions, 15 candidates representing eight countries were selected from foreign applicants.
Famous soloists and performing groups from Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, India, and Egypt are expected to participate in this prestigious international contest.
