The National Bank of Uzbekistan and the French company signed an agreement on cooperation in implementing projects in the tourism industry in the amount of 100 million euros.
The document was signed during the Uzbek-French business forum, held on the eve of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France, the website of the bank reported.
The agreement provides for the construction of the tourist zone “Kadimiy Bukhoro” (Ancient Bukhara), the creation of which is carried out on the initiative of the head of state.
As per project, hotels, a shopping and entertainment center, restaurants, an elite residential complex, and landscaped gardens will be built on the territory of 10 hectares.
The French company, along with design and construction, will also assist in finding new investors for the joint implementation of projects in this direction, and participate in the management of the realized objects.
The Bouygues company also plans to gradually implement projects to build a network of hotels and resorts in other tourist cities of Uzbekistan.
Among the objects that Bouygues built were the tunnel under the English Channel, the arch of La Defense, the airport terminal named after Charles de Gaulle.
Besides, the largest companies in France, including Areva, Total, Fives and Engie, have shown practical interest in implementing investment projects in Uzbekistan.
Areva is interested in the extraction or purchase of uranium, Total – in oil and gas projects, Fives is keen to actively participate in various infrastructure projects. Engie offers the introduction of clean and alternative energy technologies.
