In order to study Bangladesh’s experience in textile industry, an Uzbek delegation has traveled to Dhaka.
In line with the program of the visit, Uzbek specialists were received in the ministries of textile industry and foreign affairs, the Association of Textile Enterprises, factories of eminent companies like Sienkee Group companies, Mega Washing & Dyeing Ltd, Youngone, Badsha and Prostar Group. There, our representatives familiarized with the process of production of high-quality textile goods.
During the talks, the Uzbek side informed about the favorable conditions created for foreign investors in the country, in particular the benefits provided for domestic cotton producers, lower energy costs, and the availability of skilled workers. The two parties discussed prospects of implementing joint projects and emphasized the need for a gradual transition from commodity exports to cooperate on joint production of ready-made goods. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh K.Ahsan expressed confidence that in the near future Uzbekistan will turn from an exporter of cotton into the largest manufacturer of textile products. According to him, companies of Bangladesh should take into account the advantages of the availability of essential raw materials in Uzbekistan, energy resources and the favorable investment climate.
Following the talks, Bangladeshi companies expressed interest in the transfer of technology and know-how to the partners in Uzbekistan for the preparation of manufacturing facilities to the production of high quality goods.
